We've got a host of new features, fixes, and improvements in cloudSwXtch Version 3.0.0, including a refresh of swXtch.io’s monitoring tools like wXcked Eye and swXtch-top and a new way of bridging with cloudSwXtch Bridge Type 3. Here’s a snapshot of what to expect:
What’s New:
Introducing cloudSwXtch Bridge Type 3: With added support on RHEL 9 and for non-Mellanox NICs, cloudSwXtch Bridge Type 3 is a DPDK-based variant, touting higher throughput and the ability to run swXtch Lossless UDP for Ground to Cloud. For installation steps, see here.
Live Standards Conversion unlocked: We’ve added support of Cinnafilm’s Tachyon LIVE for cloudSwXtch, adding a wealth of video transformations in the cloud. Users can also configure Tachyon LIVE in the wXcked Eye UI.
Multiple VPC/NIC support for High Availability: Users can separate their 2022-7, or high availability, traffic into multiple VPCs on, ensuring total network data isolation across two or more paths. This feature also removes the need to peer the VPCs. For more information, see here.
Improvements:
Better adaptability and new information in wXcked Eye Topology Graph: The Topology Graph has a brand-new look with Protocol Fanout now configurable directly from a cloudSwXtch component node. High availability stats and swXtch Lossless UDP stats are also now visible in the graph.
Improved visibility in a new Topology Table: A new Topology Table in wXcked Eye gives users a breakdown of individual streams and channels, enabling a granular look at data flow.
Wicked new configuration options in wXcked Eye: The Settings page has a few new additions, such as the Components, Aliases, Channels, and Streams tabs. Also, users can now specify certain colors for HA paths, streams, and channels to carry through the UI. For more information, see Configure cloudSwXtch with wXcked Eye on our documentation site.
swXtch-top gets a face lift: swXtch-top has been refactored with an all-new layout and user-friendly enhancements. Now, users can click directly into the UI to navigate between views. A new Setup function also allows users to select the columns important to them for monitoring. Four new views have been added: Components, Lossless, Subscriptions, and Configurations.
New API Calls: Our Monitoring and Configuration API has been updated with new responses, including a topology API call. The Protocol Fanout Adaptor API calls have been streamlined.
