New York, September 8, 2022 -- swXtch.io LLC, a subsidiary of technology company IEX Group, Inc., joins forces with Evertz Technologies, Ltd., a leader in video and audio infrastructure solutions, at IBC2022 (September 9-12, Amsterdam). Together they will demonstrate how broadcast and video producers can finally harness the power of cloud networks for their most demanding workflows.
The demonstration at the Evertz booth (1.F76) combines core infrastructure and workflow technologies from both companies. It includes Evertz’s MAGNUM-OS system to orchestrate complete signal flows representative of an on-premises SMPTE ST 2110 facility. swXtch.io’s cloudSwXtch network technology enables the ground-to-cloud IP video multicast and SMPTE ST 2022-7 switching capability for cloud networks.
IBC2022 marks the global debut of cloudSwXtch, the first solution for the broadcast and media industry that enables on-premises network feature parity to cloud network environments. Video and broadcast producers can now access the same features, systems, and processes in the cloud as with dedicated broadcast networks. cloudSwXtch’s hitless merge feature incorporates the latest SMPTE ST 2022-7 standard for transmitting a single reconstructed output stream through two or more redundant IP networks.
“Working with swXtch.io has opened exciting new opportunities through virtual switching technology, which is still a novel concept for our industry. With cloudSwXtch, our customers can launch a virtualized multicast router to extend an on-premises standards-compliant network to the cloud under the control of our MAGNUM-OS,” said Mo Goyal, Senior Director, International Business Management for Evertz. “Our combined demo offers insight into how the industry can develop new hybrid workflows, extend live productions, or even execute disaster recovery strategies for media facilities.”
“cloudSwXtch bridges on-premises and cloud networks at the data layer using the latest technical standards SMPTE ST 2110 and 2022-7 for seamless, uninterrupted, production quality video,” said Geeter Kyrazis, Business Lead for swXtch.io. “Together with the media infrastructure experts at Evertz, we show how broadcast and media professionals can now run full production workloads in the cloud with true on-premises feature parity and without sacrificing performance or scale.”
